Pujya Swami Amaranandaji graced the Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra Bengaluru with a visit on May 19th and May 20th, 2018.
Swamiji's visit was announced by email and the whatsapp groups to all the devotees in the area. Many devotees attended the meditations on 19th and 20th and were able to receive the blessing of the visit.
Swamiji was received at the kendra on 19th late morning by the managing committee and devotees in the vicinity. Swamiji was lodged in the multi-purpose rooms in the first floor of the kendra extension building where provisions have been made for YSS monastics to stay.
Swamiji kindly consented to lead the Saturday three-hour meditation and dedicated the last part of the meditation to chanting. Devotees were transported to a higher plane on singing some of their favorite bhajans led by Amarananandaji, the chants sung were: Karunamai Gurudeva Yogananda Paramahansa, and bhajans on Guruji, Divine Mother and Lord Krishna.
On 19th May, Sunday morning, Swamiji was honored by senior member of the Kendra, Shri Siva Kumar ji. Afterwich Swamiji led the Energization exercises and meditation. As Mother’s day in 2018 was on May 13th, Swamiji dedicated May 20th as a special occasion to remember the Divine Mother’s Love.
Swamiji weaved his satsanga with stories from Guruji's life as well as anecdotes from his own experiences with his mother, by doing so, he drove home the message about the love of the Mother and ultimately how it was most important to seek Divine Mother's love and approval in everything we do. He reminded the devotees how a human mother's love is the only love that is closest to Divine Mother'ss unconditional love (yet not perfect), how mothers (parents) should balance love and discipline as Guruji did, playing the role of both father and mother to all the monastics. The many instances of Guruji's absolute, childlike faith in the Divine Mother and Her many healings brought inspiration to the devotees present. Swamiji also reminded everyone of Guruji's chant where Divine Mother is indirectly urging devotees to ask for Her love and devotion rather than salvation, because they bring the Mother Herself to us.
The satsanga ended with Swamiji distributing prashaad as devotees joyfully sang the bhajans: Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Sri Yukteswar Namo Yoganandaaya and Amara Guru Yogananda.
Devotees left the kendra uplifted and grateful for the spiritual blessing of an unscheduled visit, chanting and satsanga by Swami Amaranandaji!
Jai Guru!
