Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Bengaluru celebrated Guru Purnima Day on Sunday 9th July with reverence and devotion. Around 300 people attended the service. Morning session started at 10:00 am with arati, opening prayer and chanting (I will sing Thy name..). At 10.45am Guruji's voice was played. Followed by chant (Guru ka dhyan karo...) and period of meditation and prayer. Morning session was concluded by bhajan and pranami.
Maha Prasad was served at 12:30pm after pushpanjali. Buffet-style lunch prasadam was served in two counters smoothly for women and men devotees. Keeping the occasion in mind light lunch was served.
Afternoon session started at 2:00pm with bhajans. Later at 3:30 pm we had the Palanquin Procession for Guruji on Paramahansa Yogananda Road. 150 devotees joined the procession and walked for approximately 2 kilometers chanting the Guru's name. The procession passed through Paramahansa Yogananda Circle and touched Paramahansa Yogananda Park as well.
After a short break for tea, evening service started at 4:45pm with arati, opening prayer, and chanting (Think ye... ) and meditation. At 5.30pm, reading of Mrinalini Ma's letter on Guru Purnima and excerpts from Autobiography of Yogi on Guru and Paramgurus promises and assurances. Reading session was followed by chant Om Guru Sachidananda... and another chant at 6.20pm Thou Art my Life.... Finally day-long service ended with healing prayers, closing prayer pranami.
