Bengaluru Dhyana Kendra was formed in 1965 and has completed 52 years. The Dhyana mandir was built and consecrated in the year 1993. With the steady growth in the number of devotees and the incresing activities of the Kendra, the available space in the Dhyana Mandir was insufficient. Therefore, Yogoda devotees in Bengaluru came together with the noble endeavor of expanding the Dhyana Mandir.
To extend the Mandir, a Ground-Breaking Ceremony was held on 29 June, 2016 by Swami Madhavananji. The construction got completed in July 2017.
The Extended Dhyana Mandir now has a building with 2 floors. The ground floor has a hall to accommodate around 250+ devotees. On the first floor we are planning to form rooms for book sales counter, children’s Satsanga and library. The terrace will be utilized for Meditation, Lunch, Prasad distribution and the practice of Energization Exercises.
To Consecrate the Extended Dhyana mandir an event was organized for Devotees, Public and the Media on 11 July, 2017 from 4.30 pm to 7.00 pm.
The Consecration of the Extended Dhyana Mandir was done by Swami Suddhanandaji and Chief Guest for the day, Sri. Ashok B Hinchigeri, the Honorable Justice, High Court of Karnataka.
In the morning, around 50 devotees had attended personal counselling session with Swamiji. The "Dedication Ceremony”, was organized in the evening. This included Energization Exercise done on the Terrace of extended building, Guruji’s Palanquin procession around the Mandir and inauguration of the mandir by both Swamiji and the Honourable Judge. Thereafter, Satsang led by Swami ji was followed by Chief guest's speech and Group Meditation. The main contributors to building the mandir from Municipal Corporation, Local Corporator “Sri Gunadanna” and the Engineer and builder Sri Mohamed Rafi were felicitated for their support. The event concluded with Swami ji's interview by the media “Samaya TV” about the event. More than 250 devotees participated in the event.
