More than 150 devotees experienced a captivating Satsanga given by Swami Chidananda ji that was livestreamed in the Kendra in two separate halls for (150+) adults and (15+) children. Swami ji delivered the satsanga from Mumbai during the last-leg of his India tour. Swami Chidanandaji's satsanga was both experiential and inspirational, not merely giving the devotees spiritual maxims, it was a transformational experience coupled with practical advice.
Swamiji drew devotees closer to God and Gurus with his soul stirring invocation focusing on the healing light of divine beings and then led a guided meditation to bring in that light, love and wisdom via the cosmic vibration of Aum into the body, mind and soul. Swamiji talked about the power of meditating together and its ability to silently create deeper bonds between meditators and to create vibrations of love and peace in the world.
Swami Chidanandaji emphasised the value of pranayam and Kriya Yoga in the control over the nervous system, which he likened to an interface between soul and the sensory world. He illustrated how it can either be a portal or a barrier to soul/divine consciousness, and urged devotees to take conscious control over this channel, which is daily exposed to the toxic sensory barrage of maya.
Sri Chidanandaji explained how pranayam can be used to dispel emotions, which are a flow of energy from the brain into the body. He led the devotees in a practice of a brief pranayam technique that can be used to overcome emotions and still the mind to interiorise one's consciousness.
Swamiji shared how it pains his heart to see today's youth struggle with self-esteem due to a society that focuses on outer validation, and how people are seeking 'likes' vs. loving themselves. He touched upon the vital need to go within to understand our worth and to drink daily from the spring of God joy. He offered yoga sadhana as a tool to develop self-love and courage to face the challenges of life.
As Swamiji closed his Satsanga, he connected back to a point he made earlier in his talk about human beings having vast power & potential, and that people manifest them in lesser or greater degree in their earthly battles. As he read Guruji's poem the "Noble New" he urged devotees to stir the heavens in their love for God and Guru and manifest never before devotion and courage to manifest God's light in their lives.
Through this Satsanga devotees were given a glimpse of the promise hidden in the verse by Adi Shankaracharya (Baja Govindam: stanza 4), which Swami Sri Yukteshwarji quotes in the conclusion of his book The Holy Science, stating that "the company of a divine personage, even for a moment, can save and redeem us."
Jai Guru!
